human affairs being watched

i was listening to jeff waynes war of the worlds and thought id do this. Personally i think the musical is better then steven spielbergs movie rendision of it. I wonder why hollywood turns books or alters them dramaticly. I think it would be more interesting if the film was actually set in late 19th century rather than in the early 21st century. and in London as theres old steam trains.
